Well tonight is the big opening for our exhibition! We are all very excited and really pleased with how the gallery looks.

After tonight's opening, the exhibition can be viewed at The Little Goat Gallery until 8 January 2010. Susie has the gallery open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10am-5pm.

We will post some photos from the night very soon.

Sneak Peek!

Hi peeps! Well our exhibition is coming up VERY soon and we have been busy getting our final pieces printed and framed ready to hang next Tuesday.

Thought I'd give you a little sneak peek of one of my pieces, hot off the presses! This photo is courtesy of Nick from PanelPop. If you haven't heard of PanelPops, well, hold onto your hats! They are a pre-framed surface that you can work directly onto with pencil, paints etc. or (as in my case) you can have your work printed directly onto them. The surface kind of reminds me of porcelain - it's very cool! The materials used have been rescued from their fate at the tip, so they're eco-friendly too!

I can't wait to see mine up close and personal when they arrive back next week!

First Fridays at Molten Cafe

Well it's been a long time between posts! We've all been flat out with various things, but tomorrow night (Friday 3 September) our exhibition at Molten Cafe opens as part of the Riddoch Art Gallery's First Friday series.

This is also serving as a preview for our major exhibition in November. Tomorrow we'll be showcasing our collaborative artworks plus individual pieces by the 5 of us and our two lovely guest "sisters", Susie Clarke and Ben Hood.

The night kicks off at 5.30pm, and the exhibition will run throughout September. Here's a sneak preview of some of the artwork.....

Bianca wins design prize

Bianca receiving her prize along with some fine wine from Kate and Mel Hollick

CONGRATULATIONS (again) go to Miss Bianca Gillin, who has taken out the Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival Design Prize - for the second year in a row!!
Bianca's winning entry from last year formed the graphics for this years festival promotion (programme, poster, flyers, website, TVC) and next year we will once again see Bianca's handiwork when it is used to promote the 2011 festival.
Bianca was rewarded with a $1000 voucher from Next Byte Apple Centre for her efforts.

Art Lessons

Recently the Sole Sisters tried their hands (well... brushes) at painting - venturing along to an art lesson with Susie Clarke at 'Little Goat Gallery'.

Susie took us through some basics skills using acrylics and we learnt some techniques on how to handle the paint and how to use tone and colour. In the process each of us created our own patchwork fruit masterpiece!

Thanks Susie for a fun night!

Sole Sisters have an exhibition at Little Goat Gallery in November - stay tuned!

A little sole brother...

Congratulations to Sole Sister Simone and her husband Justin on the arrival of their first child George Colin Mark Kain. Born on Wednesday the 7th of April, weighing a healthy 7 pounds 12 ounces. George came into the world complete with a full head of dark hair and both Simone and Justin are over the moon with their new little man.
